The purpose of Nuclear Medicine Essentials is to provide the referring physicians, nuclear medicine specialists, general radiologists, trainees, technologists as well as patients with essential, up-to-date information on nuclear medicine imaging and therapy procedures.  This website is not meant to replace a thorough study of the relevant textbooks, published literature and societal and national guidelines or patient-specific instructions given by the referring physician or imaging facility. 

The goal of this website is rather to highlight some essential information that the authors have encountered to be likely of interest for the various groups, and otherwise not available or easily accessible. Information ranges from pathophysiologic basis of nuclear medicine procedures to detailed protocols, focusing on what is essential for practice of state-of-the-art nuclear medicine.
